On a lake
in Warwickshire I spent several months photographing Herons. I waded
into the lake and fixed a railway sleeper 2" below the surface of the
water and attached several feeders to the sleeper which could not be
seen. The background was a lovely diffused wood which gave me a perfect
green reflection in the lake producing some stunning images. By baiting
up the feeders on a regular basis, it attracted up to 5 herons although
one particular heron became dominant. The situation produced good
inflight shots and perfect mirror images of heron catching fish.
